Today is the grand opening of Wine 101 - the Gathering Place, a new business and new member of the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce.  The shop is a wine bar and wine shop owned by John and Billie Jo Winskowski.  The ribbon cutting took place today at noon, but the store itself has been open for a couple of weeks.  My husband bought me a bottle of wine there for Valentines Day, right after they opened and it was very good!   

The shop is located in Harbour Pointe at 11601 Harbour Pointe Blvd, across from the St. Andrews Drive entrance to One Club House Lane.  It is in the same shopping center as the Harbour Pointe Espresso drive-thru stand and the Burger Place. 

I am excited about the opening of Wine 101 for a couple of reasons.  It provides an anchor store for the shopping center where it is located,  which has struggled to find tenants for the last couple of years.  It will also be a much needed addition to the Harbour Pointe area, providing yet another “walkable” business for residents of Harbour Pointe.  

 Wine 101 is open for lunch and unlike some other wine bars, they serve a variety of food beyond just appetizers.  John and Billie Jo stock a variety of great wines and are happy to special order any wines they do not stock, and also have created a wine club that will ship a selection of wines right to your door.

 If you’re in the area I recommend you stop by and visit!  Grand opening is today from 12 - 3 pm, but the shop’s regular hours are Tuesday through Thursday noon to 9pm, Friday and Saturday noon to 11pm.
